'INTENSE,' was one of the first few words that came to mind and that is the word I am using now ;)
Over the past two semesters, like a fish out of the water I really have been put in a new environment. A more intense one if you would like to call it. As time flies by, I grew to learn why many and many people call UST, the University of Stress and Tension. Classes and workloads are definitely intense! and catching up with them can turn out to be quite a challenge but I would also be lying if I tell you that I am not enjoying single moment of it.

UST is a place of growth. As I grow to be a more intense version of myself, whether I like it or not, I have also grown to be a more global-minded person. Everyday I meet up with my friends from around the world whose backgrounds are not one bit similar to my own. Going through the same changes that I am, our intense differences only draw us closer and I am sure not to take that for grant :)

Getting to know the local people can be quite a challenge as well due to language barrier to a certain extent, but it is surely heart-warming to see the people trying their best to communicate with you as much as possible and that alone makes it impossible not to smile. In every university-life there's a love story...in mine there's a couple sad ones. Though I don't know how to put it into words, or rather do not want to :P I know that there will be quite an intense one waiting for me in the future without a doubt.
To sum up my life at HKUST, Intense workloads, intense friends, intense Hong Kong girls = drowning in a lot of intensity. But at the end of the day, a good night sleep can help you a lot with that so a piece of advice for people joining UST next year, Do try your best to sleep on time~
